2012 Equinox Traverse 48 Hour

The Equinox Traverse was one of those absurd goals Eric and I set back in January, a race we signed up for saying "Yeah this is gonna be awesome, we'll be totally ready in 7 months." Since we were going to be doing a series of smaller races, and the the [NYARA Longest Day]() a month before this, we figured that post-longest day we'd be completely ready to tackle a 48 hour adventure. However, after finishing the Longest Day, we were left so beat up and exhausted we were almost ready to give up on the Equinox, give it another year of training and then try again when our bodies were in better shape.

2012 Longest Day 24 Hour

I'm about 7 weeks late attempting to summarize this race, sorry to those of you who wanted to hear about it sooner. After writing this thing I'm pretty sure the main reason I kept putting it off was because I didn't want to mentally relive the race itself. Everytime I look back on it I have fond memories, but when I really start to think about it I know there were some real dark periods of time, and with a 48 hour race on the horizon I didn't want to psych myself out.

2011 Bitter Pill

This was the first adventure race any of us had ever competed in. Eric and I had just met a couple months prior through a few friends, and on a run at work one day the subject of adventure racing came up. AR’s were something both of us had wanted to try but never found anyone else crazy enough to jump right in. I had raced the Tough Mudder a few months prior and wanted to find something even more challenging, and he was an all around strong athlete, so we took a look on the USARA website and discovered this race about six weeks prior to race day. We signed up instantly.
